Kashyap's Reception

Folks Kashew's reception was a nice-food- good-friends affair.

In attendance were Alam, Afshan and Shums... Kholu, Meen and Munchi... G and Vishesh... Gullu Achaarya ...Shobhit Pande (seen mixing with unknown people).... Harsh Dayal, Mrs Harsh Dayal and little Priyadarshini ... there were also a couple of juniors and probably some seniors (my inter batch networking is pretty poor so wouldn't know for sure)

Thankfully everyone was spared the go-on-the-stage-for-video-and-snap ritual ...Kashew and Deepti circulated well amongst the guests and we got to spend a lot of time with them .... we utilized this time fully .. and tried our best to embarrass the newly married couple... when that didn't succeed ...we tried to embarrass everyone else by laughing and talking loudly (aided in good measures by free flow of booze .. a special mention must be made here for something called "Black Bull").... Anyways ...because this was a festive occasion.. people didn't seem to mind much... and we were allowed to carry on the party till late in the night...

The IIMB delhi gang was the last bunch of guests to leave .... and when we left we got a pleasantly surprising return gift .... The gift will ensure that Kashew's reception gets fondly remembered in many future gatherings of the delhi gang ....

...to sum it all up... the reception was a good Free Spirited gathering

Pictures will be posted after Kashew sends them to us

K2 in the news

As I opened the Mint edition and saw a headline on a microbrewery in Gurgaon, my first thought was, wish it was Suketu whose brewery they were talking about.

Suketu is however featured in the following article from the Mint

http://www.livemint.com/2008/10/11003643/The-microbrew-march.html

Suketu's brewery is still 'WIP' (work-in-progress) even though he was India's first to get a licence.

Kiran and Deepak's wedding party

Kiran and Deepak celebrated their 3rd year of officially living together. The event was held in Delhi’s prestigious IHC last Sunday evening.

Kiran and Deepak were gracious hosts and the party was very unlike a typical Delhi wedding party where you barely get to meet the bride and groom. Both mingled well with all guests. There was pleasant piped music (no Himesh bhai blaring from speakers). In true American style, both cut a wedding cake (that 3 story types) after which a delicious dinner was served.

Alam, Kholu (and wife, kid), Sailor (and wife, kid), Vivek Gupta, Vishesh and I attended the event. Lack of enthusiasm on part of our batch mates to participate in this event was quite sad. After all, here is someone organizing a get together, giving you free booze and food and a platform to meet other batch mates that too at a central location. And yet people don’t turn up!

Curiously, I was told by unnamed sources (you can guess who was source of such juicy news) that Gullu and Keku , both cancelled their plan to attend this event and instead go off to some place in Gurgaon– just the two of them.
